What To Say When A Collector Calls
If you pick up the phone when a debt collector calls, all you need to say is please stop calling, then hang up the phone. Each time that debt collection agency call you after you’ve asked them not to, is a potential legal violation of the TCPA, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. You are Opt-ing out from their phone calls, so no matter what, they can not continue to call you. Each call after you ask them to stop is potentially worth up to $1,500 PER PHONE CALL. So make sure to log all collector calls.
Protecting yourself and your family from Bad Debt Collection Agencies
What I’m going to do is forward them to our attorney that’s going to look at each collection agency. They’re going to work to Sue that collector on your behalf at no out-of-pocket cost to you. The second way is if you are receiving letters in the mail. I do not want you to respond to any of these letters. what you need to do is either submit them to me or submit them to your favorite FDCPA attorney the FDCPA is the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and it mandates what collectors need to say in all of their collection letters.
If they didn’t say the right phrase or term, or if they said something that was misleading or unverifiable, then there is the potential that there’s a legal violation within that letter. For our clients, we automatically send those letters to our FDCPA Attorney and they review every single letter. If there is a violation they Sue the debt collector for you at no cost. Iff you’re being harassed by debt collector, please reach out and we would love to give you a free consultation, where we can help you to improve your credit scores, stop debt collector harassment and give you peace of mind.
